1  Learning and teaching

Build on existing practice to develop a learning and teaching framework that ensures consistency of approach and also enables curriculum development through professional development, with a particular focus on raising attainment in literacy and numeracy.

 

Whole school approaches to planning, assessment, pupil support, monitoring of pupil progress and engagement are embedded, consistent and developmental.

Pupil progress and attainment, particularly in literacy and numeracy, are enhanced.

 

 

 

Teacher and standardised assessments indicate that pupils are making consistently good progress in literacy and numeracy, most being on track to achieve appropriate levels by the end of P1, P4 and P7.

Where pupils are not identified as being on track, their needs are met through support planning.

Observations of pupil engagement in learning activities show consistently high engagement in literacy and numeracy.

2  Health and wellbeing

Refresh and highlight whole school approaches to anti-bullying, behaviour and related areas (ASN/Inclusion), involving all stakeholders.

Explore opportunities to extend pastoral support provision.

All stakeholders have a shared understanding of the key principles of inclusion.

All pupils actively include others, and feel included themselves.

 

Pupil surveys and discussions show that they can explain what bullying is and understand how anti-bullying strategies can work for them.

In surveys and discussions, pupils report consistently that they feel safe, respected and included in school.

3 Outdoor Learning

Build on progress in 2020/21 to develop both the school’s outdoor learning environment and the outdoor learning curriculum, involving stakeholders and partners.

Pupils’ engagement in learning is enhanced through their experience of a greater range of learning opportunities.
