We had a fantastic Sports Day today, with the weather mainly dry and warm. The day kicked up off with a special World Cup themed team games competition, using a football in a series of events. The winning team was Saudi Arabia, closely followed by Japan and Panama. It was amazing to hear the children encouraging their teammates, such a lovely display of nurturing and respectful behaviour towards each other. The afternoon then featured more traditional races though there were a couple of new events- the 5 in 1 race and the Water Race. Again, it was lovely to see all the smiles and to hear the children openly praising each other. We finished off with the marathon and relay events. The children were delighted to be given apples to snack on, donated by our local Tesco store as part of their Free Fruit for Schools scheme. Thank you Tesco!
