It was Scholastic Book Fair time today so parents joined us for a reading – themed workshop followed by time to relax and read with their child.
The theme of the workshop was the types of questions children can be asked to help aid and extend their understanding of texts, with the chance to join the older children as they led a reciprocal reading session. The younger children took part in a variety of structured and play-based reading activities with their parents.
It was lovely to see parents and children plus groups of mixed-age children reading together.
Thank you to all parents who came to school today to support our Book Fair.
