The children continued their Kintyre Medieval Trail project with Mrs McTaggart and Mrs Nimmo showing the children the beautifully illustrated Book of Kells. This book is a religious document made in the times of St. Columba. The children had already researched the life of St Columba and learned about his link to the Isle of Iona where the carved stones at Saddell and Campbeltown Cross originated. They are now using what they have learned as inspiration for their boat sail designs for the Skipness Festival of Lights.
Meanwhile, Mrs Robertson continued to inspire the children to create their own art work, showing them how to paint and dry brush their clay leaves and Celtic plaques to pick out the detail. These will be used to form one larger piece of art work with all children contributing.
