What a fun afternoon the children and their visitors had at our Burns Afternoon celebrations.
The afternoon started with a whole school rendition of ‘Ye Cannae Shove yer Granny’, followed by recitals of Scots poems by individuals or pairs. These were excellent, with lots of expression and great pronunciation of Scots words.
The P1-4 pupils entertained us with a lively rendition of ‘Coulter’s Candy’. This was followed by some Scottish dancing demonstrations by the pupils and the opportunity for visitors to dance with the children.
A quiz tested the knowledge of all things to do with Robert Burns- well done to our winners.
The afternoon was rounded off with Auld Lang Syne.
We were delighted to have such a good turn out for this event and hope all our visitors enjoyed the entertainment.
